Katharine (Katie) McWilliams is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 5 years of professional experience. She did her undergraduate and doctoral coursework at the University of Delaware, a US News and World Report top ranked DPT program. Katie has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2012. Prior to her Physical Therapy career, she worked as a fitness programming specialist for adolescent volleyball teams, a group fitness instructor, and personal trainer. The majority of Katie’s professional experience is in the outpatient orthopedic setting with specific training and certifications in vestibular and concussion management, dry needling, geriatric care, and running mechanics. She also has experience in the home-health, acute care, and acute rehabilitation settings to provide a more comprehensive outlook on the healthcare continuum.

Katie is a huge outdoor enthusiast. She is an avid trail runner, backpacker, and climber. Katie has completed dozens of trail and road races from 5k to ultra-marathon distances. She is currently training to backpack the John Muir Trail, a 210+ mile journey through California’s Sierra Nevada Wilderness. She has visited 17 of the U.S. National Parks and hopes to see all throughout her lifetime. Katie knows these activities are more than just hobbies, they are focal points in what brings us fulfillment in life. This is why she founded Trailblaze Physical Therapy + Wellness - to keep active people doing what they love and to help those interested in achieving this lifestyle do so safely.
